Stem Cell Therapy for Hip Pain Wellington, Florida

Chronic hip pain can significantly impact your quality of life  making everyday activities like walking, bending, or simply getting out of bed a daily struggle. While traditional treatments such as medication, steroid injections, and physical therapy may offer temporary relief, they often don’t address the underlying joint degeneration that causes persistent discomfort. For those seeking advanced options, stem cell therapy for hip pain in Wellington, Florida, is emerging as a promising treatment to target the root cause and promote healing.

What Is Stem Cell Therapy for Hip Pain?

Stem cell therapy for hip pain in Wellington, Florida, is a regenerative medicine procedure that uses your own healing cells — typically harvested from bone marrow or adipose (fat) tissue — to help repair damaged cartilage, improve joint function, and reduce pain. After processing, these regenerative cells are injected directly into the hip joint under image guidance to maximize precision and healing potential.

Unlike pain-masking treatments like corticosteroids, stem cell therapy works to address the biological source of pain and tissue damage, helping your hip joint recover rather than just suppress symptoms.

Evidence-Based Benefits of Stem Cell Therapy for the Hip

Research and clinical insights reveal key advantages of regenerative stem cell treatments, including:

Significant Pain Reduction & Inflammation Control

Patients frequently report meaningful decreases in pain and joint swelling after targeted stem cell injections. This is often credited to the cells’ ability to modulate inflammation within the hip joint.

Improved Mobility & Function

By supporting cartilage repair and tissue regeneration, therapy can help patients regain daily function — making walking, climbing stairs, and standing easier.

Minimally Invasive with Shorter Recovery

Stem cell injections are performed as an outpatient procedure, minimizing surgical risks, reducing recovery time, and delivering results without major downtime.

Potential to Delay or Avoid Hip Replacement

For many candidates, regenerative therapy can postpone or eliminate the need for surgical hip replacement, particularly in early to moderate osteoarthritis cases.

I saw Dr Al-Rashid for a painful hip in 2023. I was at a point where I had to use my hands to “lift” my leg into the car because the pain was too intense to just lift it on its own. He said that I was a candidate for PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections because I still have cartilage. Although they are not (yet) covered by insurance, it was an investment in my comfort that I am very happy with. It has been over a year, I have no pain whatsoever and can carry out my normal routine, and increased my exercise. I highly recommend Dr Al-Rashid and the Atlantis Orthopedic Group in Palm Beach Gardens.

Always outstanding! He did my wife’s hip a little over a year ago and the follow up was great. I need two knee replacements and went to him to look at them. I will start with the first one end of this month. The staff follow through as been excellent. The best news is he does surgery at Palms West Hospital.

I had my right hip replaced by Dr. Rashid and he was excellent. The operation went smoothly. I didn't even feel the prosthetic when I woke up from surgery.

Before all of this he was very careful and helpful, explaining everything in detail from beginning to end, even tried a few treatments before jumping into an operation.

(injections/pills/scans etc)

He explained the pros and con very well. His staff is excellent in the Loxahatchee and Lake Worth office. I'm very happy I found him. My leg feels superior than my normal leg and it's only been three weeks. The incision was tiny, and after seeing him three weeks after the operation (today), the prosthetic is perfectly in place. I barely have any pain other than wound aches from the muscle incision, which of course is healing every single day.

I no longer feel any electrical surges on my leg, spasms, or the leg not waking up when I'm in a sitting position or sleeping. Literally feels perfect. I have nothing negative to say, would definitely recommend him to everybody. I like the fact that he was very detailed with everything from beginning to end.

He takes his job very seriously well being relatable and is not the type of doctor that jumps into an instant operation, unless absolutely needed, which is positive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does stem cell therapy really work for hip pain?

Many patients with hip osteoarthritis, cartilage degeneration, or joint injuries experience reduced pain and improved mobility after stem cell therapy. While results vary, clinical evidence suggests regenerative treatments may help slow joint deterioration and delay or prevent hip replacement surgery when used in appropriate candidates.

Is stem cell therapy safe for hip pain?

Yes. When performed by experienced, board-certified specialists using your own cells, stem cell therapy has a strong safety profile. Minor soreness or swelling at the injection site is common, but serious complications are rare when proper protocols are followed.

How is stem cell therapy different from cortisone injections?

Cortisone injections temporarily reduce inflammation but do not repair damaged tissue and may weaken cartilage with repeated use. Stem cell therapy focuses on healing and regeneration, addressing the root cause of hip pain rather than masking symptoms.

Can stem cell therapy help me avoid hip replacement surgery?

In many cases, yes—especially for patients with mild to moderate hip arthritis. Stem cell therapy may delay or eliminate the need for surgery by improving joint health and function. However, advanced joint collapse may still require surgical intervention.

How many stem cell injections are needed for hip pain?

Many patients benefit from a single treatment, though some may require additional injections depending on the condition of the hip joint and response to therapy. Your treatment plan is personalized after evaluation.
