PRP Therapy for Pain in Palm Beach, Florida

Chronic pain, tendon injuries, arthritis, and joint dysfunction affect thousands of Floridians each year — limiting mobility, disrupting sleep, and reducing quality of life. At Palm Beach Regenerative Orthopedics, PRP Therapy for Pain in Florida is delivered through Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, an advanced regenerative approach that harnesses your body’s own healing power to reduce pain, promote tissue repair, and restore function — often without the need for surgery.

What Is PRP Therapy?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a biologic therapy created from a small sample of your own blood. Through centrifugation, the platelets and growth factors are concentrated and injected into the area of pain or injury. This concentrated solution stimulates your body’s natural healing mechanisms, offering a powerful alternative to traditional pain treatments like steroids or surgery.

How PRP Works

  • Stimulates tissue repair: High concentrations of growth factors support cell regeneration and recovery.
  • Reduces chronic inflammation: By delivering healing cells directly into injured tissues.
  • Minimizes pain long-term: Patients often experience noticeable improvement in mobility and comfort over weeks to months.

Who Benefits from PRP in Florida

PRP therapy is a versatile option for many pain and orthopedic conditions, including:

  • Arthritis pain — knee, hip, shoulder
  • Tendon injuries — Achilles, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow
  • Ligament damage & sprains
  • Muscle strains & sports injuries
  • Chronic joint pain & inflammation

I saw Dr Al-Rashid for a painful hip in 2023. I was at a point where I had to use my hands to “lift” my leg into the car because the pain was too intense to just lift it on its own. He said that I was a candidate for PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections because I still have cartilage. Although they are not (yet) covered by insurance, it was an investment in my comfort that I am very happy with. It has been over a year, I have no pain whatsoever and can carry out my normal routine, and increased my exercise. I highly recommend Dr Al-Rashid and the Atlantis Orthopedic Group in Palm Beach Gardens.

Always outstanding! He did my wife’s hip a little over a year ago and the follow up was great. I need two knee replacements and went to him to look at them. I will start with the first one end of this month. The staff follow through as been excellent. The best news is he does surgery at Palms West Hospital.

I had my right hip replaced by Dr. Rashid and he was excellent. The operation went smoothly. I didn't even feel the prosthetic when I woke up from surgery.

Before all of this he was very careful and helpful, explaining everything in detail from beginning to end, even tried a few treatments before jumping into an operation.

(injections/pills/scans etc)

He explained the pros and con very well. His staff is excellent in the Loxahatchee and Lake Worth office. I'm very happy I found him. My leg feels superior than my normal leg and it's only been three weeks. The incision was tiny, and after seeing him three weeks after the operation (today), the prosthetic is perfectly in place. I barely have any pain other than wound aches from the muscle incision, which of course is healing every single day.

I no longer feel any electrical surges on my leg, spasms, or the leg not waking up when I'm in a sitting position or sleeping. Literally feels perfect. I have nothing negative to say, would definitely recommend him to everybody. I like the fact that he was very detailed with everything from beginning to end.

He takes his job very seriously well being relatable and is not the type of doctor that jumps into an instant operation, unless absolutely needed, which is positive.

PRP vs. Surgery: A Regenerative Alternative

While surgery is sometimes necessary, PRP offers a non-surgical option that can:

  • Accelerate healing
  • Reduce scar tissue formation
  • Minimize recovery downtime
  • Preserve joint integrity

This approach aligns with modern regenerative medicine principles — prioritizing restoration over replacement whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a good candidate for PRP therapy?

Candidates for PRP therapy typically include individuals with chronic joint pain, tendon injuries (like tennis elbow or Achilles tendonitis), ligament sprains, arthritis-related discomfort, or muscle strains who want a non-surgical option to reduce pain and improve function. Your provider will review your medical history and imaging to determine if PRP is appropriate for your condition.

How long does it take to feel results from PRP injections?

Results vary by individual and condition, but many patients begin to notice improvement in pain and mobility within a few weeks after treatment. Full regenerative effects can continue to develop over several months as the body heals and inflammation decreases.

Is PRP therapy better than steroid injections or surgery?

PRP therapy offers a non-surgical alternative to steroids or operative procedures by promoting natural healing and tissue regeneration. Unlike steroids, PRP does not suppress inflammation long-term and avoids surgery-associated downtime. However, the best treatment option depends on your diagnosis, severity, and individual goals — and should be discussed with your orthopedic specialist.

Are PRP injections safe?

Yes. Since PRP uses your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is extremely low. The treatment is performed using sterile techniques and is generally considered safe when administered by a qualified orthopedic provider. Some temporary discomfort or soreness at the injection site can occur.

How many PRP injections will I need?

The number of treatments depends on your condition, severity, and response to therapy. Some patients benefit from a series of injections, while others achieve optimal results with a single session. Your orthopedic specialist will personalize a plan for you.
